Doug is married to Cheryl and they have three dogs, a Great Dane, Chihuahua, and an English Springer Spaniel. He is a local business owner with forty six years of experience. Doug also serves on the Laketon Township Parks Committee, the Safe Streets Sidewalks, and Reeths-Puffer School Board including President twenty two years (Past President).

Doug is a past Muskegon County Board of Commissioner and is also currently active in Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Muskegon Rotary Co-Chair Rotary Interact, Muskegon North Side Lions (Acting Second VP).
